The Everwood is an island in the north-west of Mauritanja which is mostly covered in woodland with a small lake in the centre, which is oddly enough called Everwood Lake. The small town of Tal is located near to the south-east of the lake as is the islands only transport circle called The Everwood Court. Before the Cataclysm, the island was attached as part of one of Mauritanja largest island, North Isle, but broke free during this time of change.

The Everwood is home to the Everwood Court, a group of Fey who have lived here for centuries but have unknown origins from outside of Mauritanja. They claimed these woods as their home centuries ago and have been ruled over by Lord Talon ever since. The majority of the Everwood Fey, including most of their nobles, live in the small town of Tal which they built on their arrival but a good number of the more wild or unruly of their number live outside the town in the wilderness instead. Although the Everwood Court considers themselves as part of the Unicorn nation, they have always been quite reclusive and aloof and have had a tendency of keeping themselves to themselves.

The Everwood Fey also brought with them flora and fauna from their native homes which they planted here and, many generations later, the island has a wide variety of weird and wonderful wildlife which many outsiders would probably expect to see in somewhere like Arcadia rather than a small remote island in Mauritanja itself.

The island of the Everwood itself has a living sentient spirit residing within it which, until recently was just an unknown force but is now represented by the Ancestor Gaia. To the Fey that live here, she has always been there and called to their earliest settlers to make themselves a home here. It is said that Lord Talon is Gaia’s consort and that they are bound with bonds that many mortals would not understand and that, whilst he is still within her favour, she will not let him come to harm or die.

There are a number of distinct Fey Clans which are dominant upon this isle; the Red Caps, the Satyr, the Wild Fey, the Noble Fey, and the Boggarts. Each has their own unique identities and quirks and each has their own Lord to represent their people to Lord Talon whenever the need arises.

The forest, already considered alive by many, has only become more so since 1114/1115. A number of trees and plants have awoken and gained sentience and there is an addtional power sitting in the heart of the forest in Gaia's Grove.
